This is the 984 Atlas Digger I picked up off ebay for a good price. It is the early unit with the diecast boom. As you can see from the picture below it needed quite a bit of work. One of the hydraulic cylinders was missing, the frame underneath was cracked, and generally needed a good fix and a paint job. I fixed the crack in the frame and straightened it out. I had to make a hydraulic cylinder out of a bit of wood dowel I had, and replaced the other end of all the cylinders with cotter pins. Then a general cleanup, and repaint and it looks great now. Fortunately the windshield and other parts were intact and just needed cleaning. I still am working on the decals though.
