This is the very rare 992 Avro Vulcan Bomber. It was cast in aluminum and Dinky had a very hard time with it as the high heat of the aluminum damaged the dies so was far too expensive to continue with. I have no idea why they did not go back to Zamak as a medium though. There were only 500 of these made due to the expense and were only sold in Canada.

It was originally planned as # 703, then 707, then 749, and finally released as #992 although it has #749 cast in under the wings. This one is all original, the landing gear and decals are intact. The only problem is a small break at the port wingtip which was a common area of damage with these models due to the poor flow of the aluminum into the dies.

This is a crown jewel of any Dinky collection and I am proud and happy to have finally added it to my collection.

A special thanks to Dr. Dinky for his essential assistance in acquiring this outstanding model.
